Boxers Rescues Breeders - Description

Boxers are strong and muscular medium-sized dogs. Like other Mastiff-type dogs, they have strong legs, powerful neck, square bodies and peculiar folded muzzles. They usually occur in fawn and brindle, often featuring white markings on the muzzle, chest and legs. They have erect ears and dark eyes. Lower jaws curve in such a way that they cover the upper jaws.

Height: males - 22-24 inches; females - 21-23 inches.
Weight: males - 60-70 pounds (27-32 kg); females - 55-65 pounds (25-29 kg).
Life Span: 11-14 years.

Boxers are naturally active and boisterous; therefore, they require vigorous exercise on a daily basis. This is not a dog for those who lead sedentary life. Boxers are the most playful and they have a very funny way of toying with things. When excited, a Boxer can perform wonderful aerobatics. Boxers are very amiable and protective around children. They can display aggression toward other dogs, and it is advisable to leash them when walking in crowded places.

In general, Boxers are high-spirited, curious, loving and loyal. They are good with known guests and family friends, although they can be suspicious about strangers and can restrain them in a bulldog-like manner. Boxers are fond of jumping up at people. This is their natural manner of playing, but it is best to control this behavior from early age, because such behavior can be fraught with traumas for children. Boxers are very neat dogs, and they care for their coat in an almost cat-like manner.
